It seems as if today's update of network manager solved it, but I still have to confirm that. No, update hasn't solved the problem. I'm afraid that this is also a wrong place where to report your problem. Plasma-nm applet can only activate/deactivate/create/whatever connections through NetworkManager. The problem you described is in the stack below where we can do nothing about it. Better place where to report it would be NetworkManager bugzilla [1].
