Description benedikt.kircher 2016-04-12 06:55:40 UTC
"Menu->View->Show Painting Assistants" settings does not globally hide the assistant-effect previews.

Test: Make parallel Line Assistants and try to hide them globally.
Applies to 2.9 as well.

Hi Benedikt,

Thanks for your report. I can confirm there's some weirdness going on here!

that's weird, both options are working here on ubuntu 16.04 with master git 3991551
Comment 4 Camille Bissuel 2016-05-05 14:10:33 UTC
Sorry for the duplicate… was working for me on 2.9, but is not on 3.0 under Antergos (Arch linux).

For me, hiding the painting assistant option is working, but NOT the "Show Assistant Preview" option.

The assistant preview is always being shown
Comment 6 Odysseas 2016-07-15 07:25:57 UTC
I am on Windows 10, and the results are inconsistent:
If I have just one assistant, both options are working as they should, most of the times at least.
The weirdness starts for me if I have more than one. Usually they remain visible no matter what, except if I click on their eye button to switch them off.

Is it possible that *some* assistants have this issue?

I tested out different scenarios and think it should be working ok now. I only did one fix, but there might have been others after 3.0 was originally released.

I thought there was another issue with the perspective assistant, but it ended up that I just needed to rebuild that file and it worked ok.
