Deleting kdenliverc avoids the crash; but I'm now loosing all my detailed setup, such as the ShuttlePro configuration. Git commit ef1c830958cad2ec1e43cd3a73de4c02404e69c9 by Jean-Baptiste Mardelle. Committed on 01/04/2016 at 12:06. Pushed by mardelle into branch 'Applications/16.04'. Fix startup crash M +7 -4 src/mainwindow.cpp http://commits.kde.org/kdenlive/ef1c830958cad2ec1e43cd3a73de4c02404e69c9 Okay, I managed to copy over some of my important configuration settings from the old kdenliverc into the new kdenliverc and got Kdenlive 16.04 correctly starting. Could the crash be related to the new Clip properties pane? No, it was caused by a change in the default timeline track height. I reproduced and fixed it a few minutes ago, so shouldn't happen anymore. Jean-Baptiste, you're rockin'! Yes, this also fixes my crashes over here; I've tested with my old kdenliverc that caused the crash previously. Thank you very much for this incredible quick fix!
