Not reproducible here and EffectView.qml "id: searchField" does not seem to have a conditional enabled flag. Is it really disabled or only detached from the view (ie. can you still edit the text, just that doesn't have any impact)? I cannot edit the text, but there is also no graphical feedback of the bar being disabled, i.e. it's not greyed out. Does it show a focus frame (when you click into it)? When I click into or just hover the mouse over it the border is highlighted in a light blue instead of being gray.
