dolphin give the user the posibility (hidden feature) to show the KIO modules. If the folder view plasmoid also add some moduls from the KIO and add the other ones in an Other section it would be more consistent with dolphin and give the user the posibility to applications and system settings in the folder view.

so the idea is to   use the same stuff than in dolphin with some simplification

Show a place:
- Home
- Desktop
- Network
- Root
- Trash
- Programms
- Settings
---------------
- Devices -> submenu with the available devices as in dolphin
- webstore -> Submenu with the (ftp, nfs, sftp, smb, webdav, ...)

That makes no sense, sorry.

Those are KIO protocols, not "places"

Devices already show in the places list.

I think this is a reasonable wishlist entry, why are you so driven to WONTFIX it ...?

Because this bug report doesn't make sense and as you already said "Devices already show in the places list." and perhaps I misread it. Whatever.

I think it's about fonts:/, applications:/, settings:/ etc.

I agree with Eike: This does make sense and makes the Folderview widget much more useful.

it was the idea to have also the applications:/, and settings:/ KIO easy available with this widget but I'm ok with it that this widget is for files and it doesn't make the plasmoid better.
