- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Navigate through opensuse download page, then when I tried to click a download link, the application crashed. A similar crash occured when I clicked on a google link. So the website is probably not the issue; I think that is incidental. The problem could be somthing to do with QT/KDE plugins?

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

After an awful lot of debugging and googling, I think I found the culprit. It seems to be the evince-browser-plugin. For whatever reason, konqueror tries to load it even when the link does not refer to a pdf file. The problem does to affect other web browsers (firefox, midori) which all share the same plugins. 

Anyway, the workaround it to remove evince-browser-plugin in case anyone encounters the same issue.
