Description kkolle 2016-02-18 11:45:11 UTC
I cannot find plasma5 in the list of products to choose from!

I use to have the main panel on the left side of the screen in vertical mode - it gives me more screen estate in the height to work on.

When moving an application it goes under the panel - this can be alright.

After a start of the laptop the applications started to the left of the screen always goes under the panel.

The panel does not respect the setting "Always visible" - which I reads as do not place application windows under the panel.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place an application next to the panel
2. log out
3. log in again and the application window is now under the panel

Actual Results:
the application window is now under the panel

Expected Results:
Application to be placed where I left it before logging out

KDE Plasma Version 5.5.4
QT version 5.5.1
Kernel version 4.3.5-300.fc23.x86_64

Hello!

This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug has already been resolved in Plasma 5.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
