When copying a folder from one dolphin window to another, no progress notifications appear in system tray, and only the general folder structure is copied, all of the files in the folder are never copied over. No error messages are displayed.

Works for me. Notifications appear only when the size is above a certain threshold.
Maybe you just needed to update the Dolphin view (F5) on the destination window? Sometimes Dolphin doesn't do that automatically...

Can you still reproduce this with the newest version of Dolphin (17.12.3)? Works fine for me.
