If that happens, you must be breaking your xauthority files.
What display manager do you use?

I have to both $ cp .Xauthority /tmp/xauth-500-_0 and $ xhost + to have it fixed. > What display manager do you use? sddm So you have the file when you log in, then at some point it disappears?
