You don't seem to have a look and feel package installed, so it fails to load the RunCommand QML and crashes. While this technically is a bug, Krunner is of no use without a UI and OS X has a similar application with Spotlight anyway. Nothing resolved here ... ;) IMHO, if it is expected and thus implicitly intended behaviour that krunner crashes without look and feel packages installed, there ought to be a dependency somewhere that forces the user to install at least one such package. I don't get the remark about "without a UI". Not having a L&F package shouldn't mean there is no UI, only that there is no easy way to control how the UI looks and feels, right? Also, I don't think SpotLight and Krunner have more than partial (and limited) overlap. SpotLight is a file and metadata indexing engine with a search interface, the most easily accessible of which corresponds roughly to Milou . I'm not perfectly sure what Krunner is *exactly*, but the name suggests its something to run (launch) things without using a terminal emulator. |
