I did  a distribution update today, and wanted to continue work with a local copy (checkout) of a file stored in a svn repository.

As I knew the file was changed on another workstation I wanted to do update the repository before working. Surprise! The subversion context menue in dolphin is gone...

kdesvn is up an running, operation looks normal and i can open the file with kdesvn´ s contect menu. However this procedure does not reflect any changes in the "checkout" directory.

The missing context menu in dolphin effects work heavily.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Stat System
2. Start kdesvn
3. go to checkout dirctory in dolphin, no context menu
4. checkout to a different directory, same

Actual Results:  
no change

Expected Results:  
havin a submenu for "commit" and "update", etc.

What dolphin version do you use? kde4 or kde5? Since kdesvn is a kde4 app, it won't work with kde5

It is opensuse Leap 42.1 with dolphin 15.12.1-10.2,  kio_svn 15.12.1-10.1 is installed. This workstation however has been upgradet to Leap 42.1 some weeks ago, 42.1 uses kde5 I think - systeminfo only mentions kde plasma 5.5.4 but I have worked with this environment up to 14 days ago with the same setting. I had a motherboard replacement (exact same type and bios), but that should not affect this behavior...

kio_svn has nothing to do with kdesvn.
Are you sure you 
 - did really see kdesvn menu entries with dolphin (and not dolphin4 which was recently uninstalled by an upgrade afair)
 - did not use the kio_svn functionality (which currently doesn't work on my system - same as yours - too)

I see that kio_svn is also only for kde4 so I guess you used dolphin4
--> must wait for a port of kdesvn to KF5

Hallo Christian,

it seems to be right: dolphin has been replaced during the distro upgrade. I got a hint from google01103 at the forum.kde.org and have installed a repository  which allows for KDE 4 to co-exist on my system. (wolfi323 repo)
I installed dolphin4, Version 14.12.3 under KDE 4.14.16 and it works for me now as that gave me again the ability to get the local checkout directories in sync.
