Description marktenderman 2016-01-30 10:48:12 UTC
When trying to type tilde (~), thus "ALTGR + [^"~]" combo to type it, konsole often stucks into some strange accent mode, thus tilde appears with accent, which of course causes that it doesn't work.

This is rather inconvenient, since getting away from this stuck mode requires some random hitting of keys, until it magically unstucks itself.

I first thought this would be something caused by Virtualbox (since I first time encountered issue there), but today I confirmed that same issue occurs in normal non-virtual linux installation also.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to type tilde (~), thus press ALTGR + [^"~] -keys
2.Occasionally only strange accented tilde appears (which is naturally not working as tilde)
3.

Actual Results:
Strange accented tilde character appears instead of tilde.

Expected Results:
ALTGR + [^"~] produces ~

Currently running KDE 4.14.9

Sometimes random hitting keys makes it unstuck. Sometimes have to close whole konsole and open new one.

Can you please confirm this is still an issue on Konsole 20.08.1 or newer.
