A common configuration for laptop users is to extend the desktop using an HDMI connected desktop screen. Laptop LCD - 1920x1080  HDMI screen - 1920x1080.

With LCD only the plasma notification can be set to appear in all locations top-bottom, left-centre-right positions.

Connecting the HDMI screen only top/left position can be used reliably. If for any reason the plasma desktop restarts or a forced restart ( kquitapp5 plasmashell && kstart5 plasmashell ) this is the only position which continues to work.

It may be that the position is incorrect and off the display area?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Single screen display (LCD) and set the notification popup to appear bottom/right
2. Connect HDMI second screen and extend desktop to second screen -> right
3. It may show notification following mouse to HDMI screen.
4. After desktop re-start or logout/login notification no longer appears.
5. Re-configure notification position to top/left and it will appear.

I am now on Plasma Workspace 5.5.4 and for a single screen the notification survives in it's position a Plasma restart. Testing by connecting HDMI and forcing a Workspace restart as above the notification remains in its position LCD screen bottom right. 

It is not clear if the notification will follow the user activity to the HDMI screen which was the previous behaviour. I have only tested with email notifications so far? Otherwise the problem seems resolved.

The notification will follow the panel and/or desktop that has the applet in.

So if you move your panel with the notification applet to the other screen,
the notifications will move there too.
