I'm using gwenview 15.08.2 on Plasma 5.5 (using the latest packages from the Kubuntu backports PPA). The 'Sort By' option is missing from the view menu. This option was present in all gwenview KDE 4.x releases.

As a workaround it's possible to manually add a 'Sort By' button to the toolbar, but it also should be in the View menu. Apart from the inconvenience of having to add it manually to the toolbar there are dozens of toolbar options - meaning the 'Sort By' feature is buried and not discoverable at all.

In all different systems Gwenview has View -> Sort by -> Name, Date, Size

Seems to be something wrong with your installation
