Description Victor Aurélio 2016-01-08 16:10:09 UTC
When I select a directory and copy (or move) it the files inside it are copied at no order (AFAIK), this can appear to be useless, but there's cases when it matter.

When using a flash drive at car mp3 player the files are played at order which are write to drive. as described in this topic. [1]

Note: him say only cheap mp3 player do this, but isn't true, I've seen top mp3 player (even that car DVD Player) do this, I've never seen a that doesn't does this.

Maybe there's other cases too...

[1]: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=98680

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a directory containing files
2. Copy that directory
3. Paste directory in another place

Actual Results:
Files copied without ordering

Expected Results:
Files copied with alphabetical ordering or even better, dolphin preferences ordering.

Thanks for the report. I know that this can be annoying when using mp3 players, but I'm afraid that this problem is very hard to solve. This has been discussed already some time ago. Please see the messages in the thread http://marc.info/?t=137927026600001&r=1&w=2

to see why files are not copied in sorted order, in particular
