Description sedrubal 2016-01-06 21:49:45 UTC
The cover art of the current track will not be updated in the "Current Track" view.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit the tags of the current track so that the cover manager can find a cover to the song

Actual Results:
All tags will be updated in the "current track" view but not the album cover

Expected Results:
all tags, also the album cover should be updated

Oh, now it worked... It seems that this only happens sometimes (but it seems not update more often than it updates....)

Did you set Amarok to update Album art automatically in the settings? Do you rely on album art stored in the Music folder or on embedded cover art?

I selected "Write covers to file, maximum size: Huge 1600px" and covers are searched automatically, but I don't know where I can find this setting.

And I know that a cover was found, because it appears in the playlist...

Thank you for the information.

Mh I couldn't find out more, sorry... Maybe someone can review the code and then close this, if there is no obvious bug... :)
Comment 6 sedrubal 2016-01-13 01:07:16 UTC
Mh maybe it works if the album cover is already downloaded for another song or if the album to which the new cover belongs is also present... But I couldn't verify this...

Amarok does also not inform dbus about this change. Maybe this is the mistake...

Interesting is, that sometimes (or always?) the album cover for the track appears in the playlist (on the right side)

I can confirm that this works when the cover art is already known. The problem with retrieving cover art from the web is that most sources we had for the covers have closed down or changed their conditions and made automatic retrieval of cover art very difficult. Most of the time their reason is copyrights ... I fear there is really not very much we can do about this.

Mh retreiving the covers seems to work, because in the track details (where you can edit the metadata) it will be displayed, but in the "Current Track" in the middle it won't be updated when this song is currenty playing...
