Description Aqeel Zafar 2016-01-05 10:08:48 UTC
When I run skrooge from krunner, krunner freezes in it's place (Still showing skrooge in the list), and doesn't do anything until skrooge is closed.

Same is true, when running it from kickoff menu, and even a file manager (I tried dolphin, directly open the file.)

Killing plasma and re-starting it resumes the normal functionality, as do just closing the Skrooge. It seems skrooge is blocking whatever app is used to run it.

I am running skrooge 2.2.0 on:
Archlinux
Plasma 5.5.2,
KDE Frameworks 5.17.0,
Qt 5.5

Hi,

Could you try this from a console?
export SKGTRACE=10
skrooge > traces.txt 2>&1

and attach the file traces.txt here.

Created attachment 96486 [details]
Output of SKGTRACE as inquired.

Started it from the console, and closed it once it fully started. Let me know if you need anything else.

One thing I just noticed that I forgot to mention above, when the app is closed, there is a dialog box "KDEInit could not find /usr/bin/skrooge", it doesn't show up when the app is running. Clicking "OK" unfreezes the app.

Also, just tried running Skrooge from PCManFM, and it runs fine, so the issue seems to be just with the KDE apps. Don't have any KDE4 apps installed so can't check if the issue is with them too or just the new ones.

Hi,

In traces, I can't find an issue with Skrooge.
You are right, the issue is due to your KDE installation not to Skrooge.

So, I close this incident.
