It'd be nice to keyframe groups. Then transformations can be applied to a group uniformly.

Example:
Panning/rotating/zooming scenes

This kind of thing is planned to be possible when we add animation to transform masks.

However, I also think that at some point, having keyframes on groups to animate its properties and possibly allow other things could be useful. But then we need to discuss a strong design for it.

Groups can be keyframed with the Animation Curves Docker, so I'm marking this as resolved. 

However, as of right now there isn't too much purpose for it, due to the fact that opacity is the only attribute of a group that can be animated. On top of that, the Animation Curves Docker isn't really good enough in terms of UI to be ready for prime time (even though it's already in release builds).
