Occasionally, when I add a widget to a desktop in one activity, and then move it, it disappears.  I then find it in a different activity.

I noticed the following i my .xsession-errors when I looked:


Both point size and pixel size set. Using pixel size.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create three or four activities
2. Jump around from activity to activity (it seems you have to do this)
3. Add a widget
4. Try to move it -- it disappears
5. Look at the other activites -- it will be in one of them.

Actual Results:  
Widget ended up in the wrong activity

Expected Results:  
Should stay in the activity it was added to.

I have similar issues with Plasma 5.6.5 and with latest 5.7.0 using Slackware64 14.2 and Frameworks 5.24/Plasma compiled from source. Using QT 5.6.1r1.

I do not have multiple activities, but sometimes after starting Plasma i do not see my widgets, i have to use META+TAB to switch between activities. The Sidebar then shows only one Activity but after release META+TAB key all widgets do appear on screen.

After i have installed Plasma i tried to add different widgets to the desktop. I did run into the same issues as the OP: Sometimes the widgets simply disappeared when i tried to move them on the screen. After using META+TAB key to switch between my one and only Activity the widgets were back.

I locked my widgets. If i unlock the widgets and want to add a new widget the sidebar with the list of widgets appears on the left and all my widgets on the desktop disappear. Using META+TAB will bring them back but would be nice to find a fix for that.

At any time, with no applications open. If i want to switch between activities all widgets disappear and will come back if i switch activities again. I checked in system settings that i really do have only one activity and the list shows only one entry.

Is this still reproducible for you in Plasma 5.21? I haven't heard any complaints about this from any of the people I know who use Activities heavily, nor are they any other similar reports from other users.
