Description Salvo "LtWorf" Tomaselli 2015-12-28 18:00:34 UTC
See the screenshot.

The device notifier indicates that the device can be safely removed.

The icon used to display that is an alarming red cross that I would normally associate with error conditions.

Also the green tick sign on the other side does not really convey the fact that the drive can be safely removed. Without checking fstab, I would have said it was mounted.

Reproducible: Always

I raised the issue again in the past but it was said that the cross means "you cannot use this device" and the tick means "you can" and my issue was dropped.

Nonetheless Device Notifier uses the "emblem" icon (the green tick to the right) as an action icon which is wrong. We need a dedicated "please mount this thing" action icon.

We have a dedicated "mount" icon now as well as less alarming mounted/not mounted emblems.
