Open kate, add some text.
Press Ctrl-S
Kate crashes (Segmentation fault (core dumped))

Sometimes all is well, but editing is NOT possible when this editor is nearly always loosing ones work...
For reproduction, just open kate once, add text, try saving. If all is fine, close kate, reopen it, repeat. Second or third time it crashes definitely

Are you able to provide a backtrace of the crash?

I'm using Kate all day long here without crashes and wonder what the problem is ;)

What version of Kate, KDE, Fedora are you using?

It typically happens when using a new file and the dolphin dialog (should) open. Working with existing files is - as far as i can tell - ok.

remove the duplicate m_touchpadOffAtom member.

m_touchpadOffAtom is already in XlibTouchpad, which makes ctor of
SynapticsTouchpad initialize wrong atom.

I had that crash once, too, this seems to be some now fixed error in platformintegration.
Please try Kate 15.12 with some up to date frameworks, like 5.14 or so, should work their.
