Description adriana 2015-12-11 16:53:03 UTC
Made a krita file of a UV map, so the only layer in the layer stack is my UV map.
I create a new blank layer above the UV map layer, i do make sure i have the layer
selected with the UV layout. I go to select the Contiguous Selection Tool, attempt to
select my UVs, but once i do the canvas gets cleared. The UV layer is still there, i just need to toggle the Hide Icon of the UV layer to bring it back into the canvas.
It only happens with a blank layer above the layer im going to select. I understand
it selects information from layers above, but it does not vanish with other layers above it that contain information in them, like paint for example.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.a layer with information in it to select
2.create a blank layer above the layer your going to select
3.have your layer selected that contains what you are wanting to select
4.with your contiguous selection tool attempt to select your selection.

Actual Results:
the canvas should get cleared,or better to say, the canvas will be hidden.
by going to the layer stack and toggling the eye icon with bring it back onto canvas.

Expected Results:
usually the blank layer should have not affected the selection at all, and the desired
selection should have been made.

Hi Adriana,

I'm sorry, I cannot reproduce this. Here, the contiguous selection selects, and that's all :-(. I've tested on Linux and Windows. Could you try to make a video of what happens when you reproduce the bug? I must be doing something different from you.

I'm sorry, but I still cannot reproduce this issue. If it still happens to you with 3.0, please make a video and reopen this bug.
