Thanks for the bug report. I assume that you do not get icons in FolderView or in the file dialog of, e.g., KWrite either? What type is shown for these files if you switch to Details View and enable the "Type" column? What type is shown if you run "file <filename>" on the command line for such a file? Seems to be confined to Dolphin. I get icons in file dialog for Kate and if I put the files in my Desktop folder, I can see them on my actual desktop, but not in Dolphin. Tried switching to Details View and still, the icons do not display. I get 'data' for type when I run 'file *.cer' and I get 'PEM certificate' for type when I run 'file *.pem.' Hope that was helpful.
