I want to use x-tile to automatically tile all open kalarm message windows (currently about 20 of them) so that they are all visible without one covering up another one.
But they seem to be completely invisible to x-tile. All other windows on the desktop are visible to x-tile.

I tried this with the MATE and xfce desktops.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. let kalarm display at least one alarm message
2. install x-tile (in Debian: apt-get install x-tile)
3. start x-tile and look for the kalarm message windows in the list of open windows 

Actual Results:  
The kalarm message windows are not listed

Expected Results:  
The kalarm message windows are listed and can be selected for tiling

KAlarm already has a mechanism to tile message windows - use the menu option View -> Spread Windows.

I'm not familiar with x-tile, but it's possible that x-tile isn't able to handle windows which stay on top (which is the case for KAlarm message windows). KAlarm windows are designed to work in conjunction with both other applications' normal windows and with fullscreen windows. If x-tile can't handle the windows, that's really an x-tile problem, not a KAlarm one, since changing the window characteristics would almost certainly prevent them working properly in the normal case when x-tile is not being used.
