Sentry Crash Report:

Description Peter Gückel 2015-11-24 16:47:17 UTC
I had a konqueror window open with a web page displayed. I right-clicked on a hyperlink that pointed to my google plus profile page (I was nt logged in to google). The tab apeared in the background and it displayed 'google' (or something relevant) on the hidden tab in orange or red or faded (don't recall exactly). I tried to switch to the tab, but the mouse was frozen, konqueror seemed to be frozen and the keyboard was frozen (I tried to switch to a graphical vt, but the screen was locked, even though the computer was still running normally, as far as I could tell). I had no choice but to depress the reset button on the computer.

After the computer restarted and I had logged back in to a KDE session, I performed exactly the same task, but using Firefox. The second tab opened and I was able to switch to it... and here I am!

Reproducible: Didn't try

Actual Results:
KDE session frozen. No mouse or keyboad input possible. No visible changes on monitor (I didn't wait lng enough to see whether the clock gets updated, but my guess is that the display is frozen solid).

Expected Results:
I attempted to change to a graphical virtual terminal in order to kill the KDE session and log back in. The software should have allowed me to change to a different vt to restart it, instead of locking the whole computer system and forcing me to reset the cmputer and power back up.

I admit that I mainly only use Konquereor for viewing man and info pages and for its ftp functions. It was because I was updating my home page and using Konqueror's ftp function that I had used Konqueror this time. I had finished uploading and wanted to have a look at the page, in order to see how it looked 'live' and on line, when this happened.

In my report, I said, twice, that I had attempted to switch to a "graphical vt" but that is wrong, I was on the graphical one and had wanted to switch to a non-graphical vt. Obvious, I know ;-) but I don't intend to add confusion.
