The applet currently hinders being able to write offline messages, by unnecessarily disabling the text chat button if the user is offline. (Ditto for the mail button.)

This fixes the problem, and makes it take one less (wasteful) click too.

Dear user, unfortunately Telepathy is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
