We already have this in the applet, you can see security type under the access point name and you just need to put there the password. We should probably do the same in the editor, just it's not going to be easy. "you just need to put there the password" - for the most popular case of wpa2 personal yes. but i have never seen it suggesting me to enter both login and password for my case of wpa2 enterprise peap I added auto-detection of wireless security also to the editor and set PEAP authentication as default for WPA/WPA2 Enterprise which is all we can do about that right now, because there is no way how to know what authentication is used by an AP using WPA/WPA2 Enterprise.
