After using sshfs to mount a remote directory, the konsole process will use 100% cpu, with less than 1% memory usage.
Closing the window does not stop it, killing the process will.
On the same system, xterm functions as it should with the same command.

Are you using nvidia binary driver?  If so, good chance this is a dup of bug #343803
