I am using the default Ubuntu GUI Unity and the menu bar with options such as File, Edit, Project is available twice - first as the Unity menu in the top bar, and the second right under it as a Kdenlive toolbar.
The second one should be not displayed. If it is impossible to recognize the Unity menu automatically, an option in the View menu could be considered.

Aslanex, is this still an issue with recent stable Kdenlive 16.04.2?

Yes, there are still two toolbars. I've forgotten about this report and re-reported it a few days back, Bug 366236 .
