Description Gregor Mi 2015-10-17 18:58:31 UTC
I am using dolphin 15.07.90.

Currently there are three service menus installed by default (Dolphin Preferences -> Services):
- 'Copy To' and 'Move To' commands
- Delete
- File to activity linking plugin

I wonder what is best way to add a new default action: "Resize images" which can primarily be used to downsize large images.

I am not sure "dolphin" is the correct product to be used for this kind of issue but I could not come up with a category that fits better. Plasma maybe?

If one searches for "resize" after clicking the "Download New Services" button there are two results:
- KDE Service Menu PDF
- resize-kmail

The first one is for PDF only, the second one does too much by integrating it with KMail.

There is a KIPI plugin called "Kipi Batch Resize" which is suitable to be used for the task. The missing link is a script that puts the filenames from dolphin's selection to the plugins and the location where to put the script to be available in the default service menu.

Reproducible: Always

Let's dupe this to the request for Kipi plugin support in Dolphin, since that would resolve the issue.
