I use rekonq for majority of the browsing... and have it integrated with KGet for downloads.. I also use ktorrent. When I try to download torrents it opens with Kget and downloads it from there.. though Ktorrent interface for torrent download is better, would it not be better to merge the two apps into 1 or completely separate them.. Just a thought..

KGet and KTorrent already share common code (both use libktorrent). Other than that, I think the use cases are different enough to keep two applications.

I am not sure for rekonq, but I have configured Konqueror to open *.torrent files with KTorrent. Maybe check the ordering in the file associations dialog.
