When muting sound, you have to click the miniature speaker icon next to the slider you want to mute. There is no "global" mute for all playback and capture devices on the list

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click "Audio Volume" icon
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Pop-up list of playback and capture devices

Expected Results:
Pop-up list of playback and capture devices
Single mute option for all devices

On a related note: the program `pavucontrol` shows an indicator below a playback stream that shows the actual volume of the audio currently being played. This could help to visually identify the stream one wants to mute.

closing, not sure if its been looked at but have changed versions since this was logged

Please leave the bug open. For me the problem still exists. E.g. the individual loadspeaker icons which will mute one audio output device have no visual feedback when the mouse is over and there is no tooltip.

Just hope some relevant person looks at it and makes a comment to say its been noted as an issue

This is implemented now in Plasma 5.21: We have a "Force mute all playback devices" action which is accessible in both the applet's context menu and hamburger menu.
