Description adr.fantini 2015-09-06 10:55:05 UTC
While I understand that Hunyango and Haenau are animated QML wallpapers, I have a couple of issues with them:

1- No description whatsoever. How can one be sure of what they do? A first time user will never be able to tell what they do (especially Haenau, which changes very slowly), and will be annoyed at the complete lack of description.
2- Complete lack of customization. At least base color (for Haenau) and base shape (for Hunyango) should be customizable with an option in the desktop settings menu, along with an option for the mutation speed.

If properly documented, these two wallpaper types are a very nice feature. As they are right now, they are more confusing than useful and should IMHO be removed.

I agree, I have long believed that the lack of settings and description was a bug of Plasma instead of the intended behaviour.

This is disorienting as a new user.
Comment 3 Łukasz Żarnowiecki 2016-10-06 20:35:41 UTC
Still valid in 5.8

Descriptions are needed in the 'Desktop Folder Settings' as well as for the 'visual appearance' page of the "Screen locking" setting in kcm_workspace.

I would support (maybe at Plasma 6 to deal with upgrades) dropping them from our codebase and dumping on the store.
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2022-04-12 15:56:51 UTC
I agree with that.
