When I hold down a key, the auto repeat will insert two character every repeat. This happens in most application, but in some (like Firefox or LibreOffice) it doesn't. You can see it clearly when setting the repeat rate to a low value. This also doubles the rate, so a rate of 25 is actually 50.
Tested on multiple machines.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set a low repeat rate (to see it better)
2. hold down a key in a text field

Actual Results:  
It inserts two characters per repeat.

Expected Results:  
It inserts one characters per repeat.

Thanks for the report. I've just tested against systemsettings 5.20.2 and I can't reproduce this issue.
