- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I was dragging a text file's icon on desktop to a built-in widget put on desktop named like "remember my milk".  Upon my mouse up, the panel and desktop disappeared, which I thought is caused by crash of plasma (or Kwin I suppose?).

- Unusual behavior I noticed:

The widget I mentioned above (named like "remember my milk", sorry I cannot figure out its exact name cause the panel's still not available) won't be removed after I clicked "X" beside the widget.

One more thing, as I'm writing this text there was a moment where the panel and desktop came back.  However, after I clicked the "customize panel" button on the right on the panel, it crashed immediately, again.

Hello!

This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug has already been resolved in Plasma 5.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described  here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting
