Description Peter 2015-08-25 16:25:11 UTC
Pressing either the shortcut ('J') or the backwards button under the monitor when the video playback is paused (tested with both clip and project monitor) results in playback starting. Pressing J or the backwards button again in this state makes the video play backwards at speed x2.

This is under openSuSE TumbleWeed with kdenlive-15.08.0, x86_64, from packman repo.

I also have installed: libmlt 0.9.8.

Please let me know if anything else would be useful. I can attach a video if you like?

I also get command line spew of:

QXcbConnection: XCB error: 8 (BadMatch), sequence: 1582, resource id: 23069410, major code: 130 (Unknown), minor code: 3

With the sequence number incrementing irregularly. I don't believe this is related though.

In 15.08.1 this seems to work better, but still not quite as expected.

Now if you go back from a stop it advances a frame before going backwards.

Peter, as far as I remember, there has been some fix covering performance of play/pause. Can you please check with a recent beta from the project's ppa repos? Alternatively, can you please check the stble 16.04.2 anyway? If the bug's gone I would like to ask you to be so kind as to close this report. Thank you very much for your cooperation!

I wouldn't normally change the status of a bug I'm not assigned to. Are you sure that's okay? I have several bugs reported that I could probably close at this stage.

Peter, as you are the reporter of this bug feel free to chnge the status. As devs are fixing errors, they may miss some bug reports also now covered by a fix.

So, is this bug still present? If not, please be so kind as to close this report. Thank you very much for your cooperation!
