*** Bug 350917 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 352317 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Thanks for the report(s) What's your KAccounts version? If 15.04, can you please update to 15.08 and confirm it is still happening there? Thanks I tried with the version you proposed (from opensuse branches). It does not crash but it break the functionality on the tumbleweed I have. It accepts the password but after that ktelepathy is not going online and you are not asked in a brand new user the wallet password. So wallet does in my case not seem to recognize that it is needed. For me it does not work, sorry. Don't know in Ubuntu. It is likely that you now have kwallet-pam, which unlocks your kwallet automatically with login, so you don't get prompted for password at all. Can you please post "mc-tool dump"? Replace any data you think are sensitive so, question: a) as su - or as user? In console mc-tool dump gives for either a clean return to prompt, I do not find the dump. b) Where does it dump. c) Maybe I have to install further debug packages. Please advice me shortly what I should have installed to be efficient. For Telepathy. It does not connect. It does not give an error message. The account is there, but when I open the contact list it tells me: you do not have an account yet, do you want to set up one now? This is funny because while it says it, the account is shown on the account list in the first place. You need telepathy-accounts-signon package. Can you please check if it's installed and if not, install it? We are making progress. It was not installed. I did install it and ended all kde session. Logged in again. Results: the existing account does not connect. No error message, no dump. If you eliminate the existing account for a new one, it crashes silently, but only the create account window (after the input of the password). I then tried to set up an account for a second time. This time it works. Account exists. When I try to go online nothing. When I open the contact list.....there is the warning "you do not have an account yet......." when saying yes, it opens the account window and the account is there. But for the system it appears it is not. Do you want me to post rmp -qla for getting a clearer idea about the system? > it crashes silently What crashes silently? > But for the system it appears it is not. Please post "mc-tool dump" output. As for general connection problems, can you please start ktp-debugger (install if not present) and paste the output from "mission control" tab and "gabble" tab if you're connecting with jabber/google account or "haze" if anything else. Please attach those in files, don't paste it in the report. Thanks "What crashes silently?" well, the window or part of application I guess. I think it crashes because the closing behavior (windows vanishes with the click in a very "strange way" , without any effect. There is afterward no account and now password, nothing, as to say "virgin". When you do it a second time it closes like you would the window expect to close (I do not know if there is a default setting with some window effect in Tubleweed but it does differ and there you have when you open the account page the new account present. Be patient with me, where can I find the result of "mc-tool dump," in the home directory of the user? trying to be clearer: when you add an account (following the question " do you want to create a new account". THAT window behaves strangely (and it looks like a silent crash to me because no functionality done and now window effect while closing. > here can I find the result of "mc-tool dump,"
Open Konsole, type it in, paste it here, that's all.
