After I read the discussion on the KDE forum on reddit I thought, there should be much interest at the moment to improve on the usability of the KDE forums. KDE has no good up to date documentation and is evolving so quickly that useful information outdates at a ridiculous pace to which it is hard to catch up to. I'd go as far as to state that without the forums it is very hard to run a successful KDE desktop experience at the moment. That's why the forums play a vital role in the spread and the adoption or rejection of KDE. In addition that here has an easy fix: just cut or copy the code for the black status bar and paste it above the code part that pulls the actual content. Quick and dirty and works. Sure that doesn't look that good but it's functional (and making it look good is really no problem either, right...)... If the status bar appears above the content, it will be conceived as a kind of breadcrumb menu - people are intuitively used to that.
