Well here krunner working just fine. When activating running window from krunner, window is focused. I have qt version 5.5.0. and plasma 5.3.2.Probably debian is little behind with packages than Arch(system that i use) so in the next update you can expect fix for that? But maybe it is bug but I can't tell ,because you didn't mention your qt version. It's good to hear krunner works correctly on your system. On my system qt version is 5.4.2. Hopefully new version will fix this. Still doesn't work. Tested: kubuntu with plasma 5.5.3 and qt 5.5.1 (new installation). opensuse live cd (plasma 5.5.2, qt 5.5.1). Do we talk about the same bug? To reproduce: 1. Press Alt-f2 and type "konsole". Choose "Applications Konsole". Press Enter to launch it. 2. new Konsole is launched, it has focus. 3. Press Alt-f2 and type "kinfocenter". Choose "Applications KInfoCenter". Press Enter to launch it. 4. new KInfoCenter is launced, it has focus. 5. Press Alt-f2 and type "konsole". Choose "Windows linux: bash -- Konsole" (existing window). Press Enter to activate (don't use mouse in this step). 6. Konsole window is moved on top, but focus is still on KInfoCenter. BTW. If activating item "Windows linux: bash -- Konsole" on krunner search list with mouse, Konsole get focus. It doesn't get focus if activated with keyboard. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370236 and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372288 also talk about similar bugs. f I have this problem on Slackware Current, with plasma 5.9.3 and qt 5.7.1 It seems to actually be a Kwin bug, if I run with openbox-kde-session which runs all of kde but uses openbox instead of kwin, I get focus properly. It's possible its kwin with different hardware, so maybe why some don't see it, but I can reproduce it on my machine with 2 year old Radeon card and alson on a two year old intel nuc, with intel apu. Same here on Kubuntu. It seems multiple monitors and multiple Panel/taskbars boink the focusing mechanism. It works much better with 3 monitors when there's only one Panel. *** Bug 372288 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 370236 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Just wanted to leave a workaround here for readers, AndydeCleyre mentioned in reddit and it seems to work: try to set System Settings > Window Behavior > Focus stealing prevention: None. I'm sorry we weren't able to get to this yet. Is this still a problem for anyone with KDE Plasma 6.3.4 or later? ๐๐งน โ ๏ธ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
