System: Linux 3.16.7-21-desktop openSUSE 13.2 (Harlequin) (x86_64) KDE-Plattform-Version 4.14.9, german language systemsettings 4.11.20 Graphics: i5-4590 internal, 2 displays LG 22EB23 1680x1050 over display port Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p SFF 10A9003PXX I have just installed openSUSE 13.2 on the above computer with no special settings. At startup the second display (right one) will be set as primary and the first display (left one) mirrors the second. If I change to a expanded desktop with the first display as the primary using the graphical display configuration utility, the desktop will be expanded correctly. But if I reboot the system, everything is lost and set back as described above. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start openSuse 13.2 and login 2. Start systemsettings from the menu and open hardware/display settings 3. Display 2 is configured as primary display and display 1 mirrors display 2 4. Move the graphic symbol of display 1 to the left and dock it to display 2 to configure desktop expansion. 5. Change primary display to display 1 6. Accept these settings: desktop changes no from mirroring to expansion. 7. Restart linux 8. You will be back with mirrored displays. Actual Results: The displays start all the time with the exact configuration: first display mirrors the second second display is the primary Expected Results: It should be changed to an expanded desktop permanently even after reboot: first display ist the primary second display expands the desktop I have seen the videos in internet about this new display module which should be smart now to detect the needed configuration of two or one display automatically. I guess it works great with a laptop as shown, where you change the connected displays and beamers dynamically. But for a desktop system like mine the display configuration is static and I would like to disable any dynamic decissions. I have the suspicion that my display response at start-up with a certain delay, so that the smart module does a unlucky decission, e. g. display 2 response (enter it as primary) and the display 1 response (beamer connected? ok mirror it).
