Sentry Crash Report:

Description pmb 2015-06-26 14:02:08 UTC
Over the past week or so notifications has reported frequently during the day that two packages need upgrading among the many that come down the pipe.

Muon shows nothing. apt-get shows nothing. aptitude shows nothing. synaptic shows nothing.
Held packages searched nothing. dpkg --get-selections | grep hold shows nothing.

Today notification six packages for upgrades. Showing only four. If I have eighty packages for upgrade, only seventy-eight are installed. Always two extra that do not show.

I have tried removing packages individually such as muon and apper but no solution works.

Two phantom upgrades!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Wait for notifications to advise packages for upgrade. Two will not show in the list.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
No packages to upgrade

Expected Results:
Advised about upgrade then upgrade then no more messages

The two packages should be found to upgrade. I cannot locate the data source where these phantom package messages are generated so I can reinitialise the database.

Hope this helps

Thank You

This was likely a distro issue more than a notifications issue, but either way, Plasma 4 has been unmaintained and unsupported for years. If the issue persists with Plasma 5, please open a new bug for your distro.
