When I plug in an external monitor, the mouse cursor will start showing up huge (as if the size 48 were selected)

The chosen size is "Resolution dependent", so since both displays are 1080p, my guess is somehow the "resolution dependant" is computing the resolution by suming up both screens.

In order to solve it, I need to manually choose size 24.

In my opinion, if you are not unifying both screens to use as one, the total resolution to compute the cursor size should be still 1080p, it doesn't matter how many additional screens are plugged in.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose "resolution dependent" mouse cursor size
** Cursor is showing up as if "24" were the chosen size **
2. Plug in an external screen
** Cursor start showing up huge, as if "48" were chosen for size **



Expected Results:  
Size should be the same as before plugging in the screen

No idea whether widget addons is the proper component.

However, I bet your right arm that this is not a bug in KDE but your screen reports a junk resolution. (1080p is not a resolution, not even "1080 px high" is - the resolution is measured in pixels per inch)

Check
a) the output of "xdpyinfo | grep resolution"
b) /var/log/Xorg.0.log - iirc notably Samsung screens have a record to report being 160mm high or such.

Kai, do you happen to know whether the logical resolution is used for this?

hehe, don't bet *my* arm, please :P

sorry, was my fault, being lazy and instead of saying 1920x1080 I said 1080p... The "Display Configuration - KDE Control Module" reports 1920x1080 as resolution on both displays.

$ xdpyinfo | grep resolution
  resolution:    96x96 dots per inch

I don't know what should I look for in /var/log/Xorg.0.log ? cannot find anything regarding "Samsung", however, the external screen is indeed a SyncMaster S23B350, but I've seen this behavior for other screens as well
