Thanks, We've not seen this crash before, so I'm going to have to request some more information from you (sorry). Can you install debug symbols for libepoxy and kdeclarative? Also this isn't a direct crash, but throwing a fatal error message, could you run "plasmashell" from the command line and copy and paste the last few lines. Hi David, sorry about the delay but I hat to reinstall Fedora 22-KDE because I had a problem installing the debug symbols for kdeclarative. I had the updates-testing repos enabled, and one version higher on kdeclarative. Downgraded to the lower version and then hell broke loose. Decided that it was going to be faster to reinstall Fedora. I've had problems since yesterday first install using the live version of F22-KDE. Tracked down to sddm-greeter, which did not let me login, at the second letter of the username it crashed showing an empty X window but I could login in a virtual console, and there could see that the keyboard was not the problem. After a few reads about this problem I found somebody advised to run 'startx' and from there thing went smoother. And then I started getting those bugs... Now, after reinstalling and slowly changing things to my liking did not reproduce those bugs. If they reappear I will let you know, and might be able to show what I did to cause them. For now I will not enable updates-testing Kind regards, Axel Peter von Bertoldi avon@uoguelph.ca 205 Country Club Dr. Phone: 519.763.7764 GUELPH, Ontario Cell: 226.820.1770 Canada, N1E 3K8 http://www.uoguelph.ca/ses/users/avon ---------------------------------------------------------- The Document Foundation released a white paper to help organizations migrate to LibreOffice. Was installing a bunch of programs and wanted to add applets. Did add one, and when selected the second one, 'CPU Load Monitor' mouse and KB froze. On reboot, I go straight to my account (autologin selected in Sistem_Settings > Startup&Shutdown > Login Screen (SDDM). BTW, something to note here, the figure (icon) for Login Screen (SDDM) has a warning triangle on top of the icon. As I said, direct to my account, need to do the Shift+Alt+F12 to show the toolbar and after a few seconds the three bugs show up. After closing the third panel, screen goes dark, cursor still responsive. If I do Ctr+Tab I can see the shadow where the applet selection was after reboot (left side of screen like full height by 5 cm, left monitor of a dual 22" monitors). Go to tty3, login as other user, startx and I am in, but still need to do Shif+Alt+F12. I go to tty2, login as myself and do startx and get the same black screen and no cursor nor keyboard. Hope this helps. p. ----- Original Message ----- | https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349289 | | David Edmundson <kde@davidedmundson.co.uk> changed: | | What |Removed |Added | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEEDSINFO | Resolution|--- |WAITINGFORINFO | | --- Comment #1 from David Edmundson <kde@davidedmundson.co.uk> --- | Thanks, | | We've not seen this crash before, so I'm going to have to request | some more | information from you (sorry). backtrace
This looks very much like my crash. Happens every time when I add a network monitoring plasmoid to my desktop. In plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc it shows up with
[Containments][7][Applets][16]
immutability=1
plugin=org.kde.plasma.systemmonitor.net
I am using an exotic configuration with two different rather old graphics cards. The problem might be related to the nouveau driver. However, I did not experience such crashes on KDE 4.
(Strangely, I cannot add this backtrace using DrKonqi as the button "Suggest this crash is related" won't do anything.)
