When Choqok is launched, if some of the "backup" files in ~/.kde/share/apps/choqok/ is big enough (I think bigger than a few megabytes) the process eats approximately 90% of CPU time.
If I delete those files, Choqok starts smoothly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. let choqok store enough messages (normally in home backup)
2. close it and launch it again
3. choqok will now consume a high CPU time, while window isn't showing

Actual Results:
Choqok isn't showing any window, and consuming a high % of CPU.

Expected Results:
Choqok opening normally.

I think this bug is related on how Choqok handles old messages. If you are following, for example, more than a few hundreds in Twitter, Home will grow up rapidly. And if the system isn't purging old messages, those will be stored in the "backup" file, making it big given enough time.

Also, the process begins to be sluggish when opened and hundreds of messages are displayed in the home timeline.

I agree, we don't need posts which are not shown in the UI.
