Description Matthew Cline 2015-06-14 01:20:50 UTC
Sometimes the network systray/applet has an orange exclamation mark on it. When this happens and I click on it, the popup menu has no indication of what's wrong. It should have an area for warning/error messages, or another orange exclamation mark on whichever connection has the problem and warning/error messages when that connection is clicked, or *something*. There doesn't even seem to be any documentation on it (at least, searching for any on Google with the term "orange exclamation" doesn't get me anything).

Exclamation mark means that you are not connected to the internet. We will try to figure out where to put such information, maybe this should be part of the tooltip.

I've seen that exclamation mark sometimes when I *was* connected to the internet.

It can be sometimes false negative, it depends on your connection stability. It works that way that it downloads the page you have configured in [connectivity] section in NM config and then compares it with the predefined value.
