Description Jean-Christophe Baptiste 2015-06-09 17:44:39 UTC
The behavior of kscreen is so erratic at every plug in/out event that I don't know by what to start:

- no recalling screen configurations per model (e.g. external monitor on the right side at office, upper side at home)
- not detecting some plug in event
- sometimes leading to a black main screen (suddenly checked as deactivated)
- most of time, after resume, main screen is blank and you need an external monitor to actually get something (very convenient during a trip)
- sometimes needing double clicking on "apply" to get what you asked
- sometimes a total misalignment of screens
- ... and probably many more buggy situation that I am forgeting

It is really catastrophic and is a major regression compared to KDE 4. We are many years back in term of Linux multiscreen support !

Reproducible: Always

Assigning to KScreen, which is where the most important stuff is going on. Some different stuff going on there, maybe some of them are part of kwin.

plasmashell stacktrace

I am not sure if this is linked, but here is a stacktrace that I got after unplugging my external screen.
I could reproduce it every time I did that.

More info on that bug in 345544

It's in Qt. A fix is there, but not released
