Description Franco Pellegrini 2015-06-08 20:06:12 UTC
I don't know exactly how to describe this issue. After a while of using my H800 Logitech headsets, bluedevil will randomly error.

The systemtray icon will be blurred, and if you hover it with the mouse it says "Bluetooth off" and if clicked, will say "No adapters found"

The konsole where I ran bluedevil-monolithic to have the system tray in the first place (related bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348894) will print:

uint DBusMenuExporterDBus::GetLayout(int, int, const QStringList&, DBusMenuLayoutItem&): Condition failed: menu
uint DBusMenuExporterDBus::GetLayout(int, int, const QStringList&, DBusMenuLayoutItem&): Condition failed: menu
Removed:  "/org/bluez/17378/hci0"
Added:  "/org/bluez/17378/hci0"

In order to fix this, I have to:

$ killall bluedevil-monolithic
$ bluedevil-monolithic

It is worth mentioning, that the bluetooth connection with the headset is not lost and I can continue listening to music.

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

bluedevil - 2.0~rc1really1.3.2-0ubuntu1
KDE plasma - 5.3.1
QT - 5.4.1

I'm sorry, but Bluedevil 1.3 (for BlueZ 4) is now unmaintained.

Ok, I'm a bit confused here... re-reading the version 2.0~rc1really1.3.2-0ubuntu1 I'm feeling kind of stupid asking :P this means the Ubuntu packagers have packed version 1.3.2 as 2.0?

If this is so, I just need to wait until the real 2.0 comes out?

Yes, this is actually a 1.3 version, because that is the last version working with BlueZ 4.

Unfortunately, you need to wait for Ubuntu to move to Bluez 5 and then you will be able to use latest Bluedevil (which is part of workspace now, so it has same version as Plasma = 5.3.1 in your case).
