When I try to update supernovae data in KStars, I get this error message:
"The Python process that updates the information about supernovae, has been terminated with the following error message: 1"


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start KStars with automatic supernovae update.
2. Start KStars without automatic supernovae update.
3. Choose "Data - Update - Update recent supernovae".

Actual Results:  
I get an error message:
"The Python process that updates the information about supernovae, has been terminated with the following error message: 1"

Expected Results:  
Update the supernovae data

Same error here, confirmed. Pops up on startup of KStars as well.

On 2016-01-01 this particular KDE Linux system was removed after a strong and unhealthy gas-smell from an elco in the Power Supply.
  
So, unfortunately I'm unable to give you any feedback on you solution right now. 

But I guess some people from the future will appreciate your solution to my report.
