Description Maciej Mrozowski 2015-05-30 10:29:59 UTC
Application launcher highlights only every second selected item.
What is strange (and likely unrelated), similar problem in Google Chrome in HTML drop down lists (for instance obseved when filling this bug report).
Everywhere else where native Qt4/5 widgets are used (dolphin file list, application menus,...) items are highlighted properly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open application launcher and go over menu items (either using mouse or keyboard)
2. Only every second item is shown as selected (but actually each one is selected as item activator works well)

Problem

Mouse is hovering over newly selected item but menu applet still shows previously selected item.

Are you using the EGL as OpenGL interface? check in systemsettings -> display and monitor settings > compositor
Comment 3 David Edmundson 2015-05-31 19:10:14 UTC
Marking as needsinfo.

Bhushan, if you ask a question, can you do that. Saves having a second person triage it.
Comment 4 Maciej Mrozowski 2015-06-01 09:09:39 UTC
Indeed, for whatever reason - with GLX compositor there's no such issue, just with EGL.
Comment 5 Bhushan Shah 2015-06-01 09:11:57 UTC
Thanks for confirmation, I've seen this bug earlier.. Please use GLX backend. is there any reason you are using EGL backend?
Comment 6 Maciej Mrozowski 2015-06-03 18:41:24 UTC
No, no reason, I tried just it since it's offered.
I noticed some bug with either loading "GLX vs EGL" settings or applying them however.

I noticed today application launcher skipping items, I went to systemsettings, noticed that 'GLX' is selected.
Then I selected GLX->EGL->GLX to get it working again.

I've just tested this on Plasmashell 5.20.2 and I can't replicate the issue.

Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved. I'm setting status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved" when you respond, thanks.
