Description Igor 2015-05-21 18:43:17 UTC
KDE 4.14.6
Goldendict has a very convenient functionality to translate any selected word with a ctrl+c+c shortcut. But in all KDE apps this functionality is broken.
In GTK applications everything seems to be fine. This happened after openSUSE issued some KDE update, everything was fine before this.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Goldendict 1.0.1
2. In Edit/Preferences/Hotkeys enable "Use the following hotkey to translate a word from clipboard"
3. Select a word to translate and a translation popup should appear, but it doesn't.
4. Try the same in GTK application (Chrome, Firefox) - works fine.

Actual Results:
No popup appears

Expected Results:
Translation popup should appear

Could you please try pure Qt applications, such as Scribus, LyX, Trojita, SMPlayer, or VLC? I do not see how KDE applications could interfere.

I tried, but result is the same. If I change a ctrl+c hotkey in a, for instance Kate, to something else, Goldendict popup begins to appear as it should.

If Qt apps are affected too, it's not a KDE problem. I would recommend contacting the developer of the app, if it's still happening.

I have the same issue.
